Provider FAQ’s

Is there a cost to be listed as a provider on GetDogServices?

We offer 2 different types of provider accounts. One is a free account and the other has a monthly subscription fee of $25. If the booking feature is activated on the free account and a user books services with you, we charge a 5% admin fee and a 3% card processing fee via Stripe. If you opt for the $25/month subscription provider account, you are eligible for unlimited bookings with no admin fees but you will be liable for all card processing fees.

Do I need to pass a background check in order to have a profile or listing on GetDogServices?

Any providers (owners, employees, staff, or team members) visiting customers’ residences will be required to pass a background check prior to being able to receive bookings on GetDogServices. If you own or work out of a brick and mortar storefront, we do not require background checks but reviews and Better Business Bureau (BBB) status will be reviewed.

How is the provider 4.5 or higher star rating figured?

We take star ratings from sites like Google, Yelp, Facebook, and Better Business Bureau (BBB) of each provider then average those ratings.

Why does GetDogServices require background checks and liability insurance policy verification for providers?

We require these items in order so only legitimate, trusted service providers have access to the GDS platform thereby ensuring a safe, worry-free customer service experience for customers as well as their fur babies.

Once I’ve registered an account on GetDogServices, how do I set up my account?

After you’ve completed the signup process and created your account, you will receive an email with a link to our “How to” page that details step-by-step instructions to easily set up your business profile, booking feature, services and everything else the GDS platform provides. Feel free to look around and learn the features on your own as well. As always, if you ever have any questions we’re more than happy to help!

How will I know once a customer books a service(s) with me?

Once a customer books service and submits payment on the GDS site, providers will be notified via email as well as a notification alert on the provider dashboard.

Am I required to allow bookings on my GetDogServices provider profile?

No, you’re not required to have the booking feature enabled. If bookings feature is disabled, potential customers will not have a way to contact you or obtain your services via the GDS site. Please keep in mind, any diversion of business away from the GetDogservices platform may result in loss of privileges or termination of use of the GDS site and services.

If I want to prevent my competitors from knowing what I charge, can I create an account without my pricing?

You can but you may miss out on the opportunity to have a customer immediately book with you. If a competitor wants to know what you charge, they’ll fake a call or a quote request. Putting your services and prices on your profile allows customers the opportunity to book when needed rather than wait for a quote.

What if I am unable to continue taking new customers from GetDogServices?

You have a couple of options. You can either set your unavailability in your provider dashboard or turn off the booking feature altogether.

How do I get paid once I’ve completed a service?

Once you’ve physically completed service(s) to the customer’s liking, you’ll need to mark the service completed in your provider dashboard. Once the service(s) is marked completed, we will issue payouts (minus any admin or processing fees) the next business day. Payouts for monthly recurring services will occur upon the next business day after each billing cycle renewal of 30 days.

Once payouts occur, how long will it take for payments to hit my bank account?

This really depends on your banking institution. Typically it takes anywhere from 2-3 business days for funds to land in your account. However, it can take up to 7 business days depending on your bank.

What if I am unable to complete a service that has already been scheduled?

If you’re unable to complete a service that has already been scheduled for any reason, it’s the provider’s responsibility to contact the customer and reschedule the service at a better time for both you and the customer.

What if I am unable to complete a job at a customer’s residence due to a locked gate, obstruction, or an aggressive pet?

Once you receive a job that requires you to visit a customer’s residence. It’s the responsibility of the provider and customer to arrange safe, unobstructed access or entry to the customer’s residence or property to perform services.

Are there any pricing guidelines I must follow when setting up my services on the GetDogServices platform?

Nope. We don’t dictate you set any minimums or maximums as far as pricing or booking fees on the GetDogServices site. You can set your pricing at your normal or current rates, or increase/decrease rates seasonally and/or during holidays. You may also consider setting your pricing slightly higher than normal to offset any booking commissions incurred. Your choice.

What payment types am I able to set up for my services?

You’re able to set a fixed price, per hour, per dog, per day as well as monthly recurring payments on the GetDogServices platform. For example, if you’re a dog walker you may set your services per dog, per hour, or sell packages that require monthly recurring payments.

If you forget your password, you can reset it by selecting the “login” button in the upper right of the GDS website then select “Forgot Password” in the bottom right corner of the login popup that displays. You will receive two separate emails; one confirming your request to reset your password and another with a temporary password that you’ll use to login to your account. Once you’ve logged in using the temporary password, you can update your account with a new password on your “Profile Settings” page under the “Password Update” section.
